2007 Auction, Member, Pet Letter and Public Donations |
Thanks go out to everyone who donated and/or purchased items at the VAF auction in Hawaii. It was fun to peruse all of the items donated while overlooking such a beautiful area. While the donations were about the same as years past, the bidders didn’t visit the auction table as frequently, which failed to bid-up the prices. Overall the auction in 2007 raised $4,028.92, that is about half of the normal amount. The good news is that general financial donations increased in 2007 (not counting the generous BSC donation which did not occur this year). Donation income outside of the auction includes:
Surprisingly, there were a lot of ‘deals’ to be had at this year’s auction. Please note in the future that since this is a fund-raising event, we need to BID-UP the prices of items. The VAF sends letters to all of the item donors, telling them what their item sold for and to whom. The auction may experience dwindling donations in the future if too many of these items are sold at too low of a price. It is important to keep in mind that the auction is a fundraiser, not necessarily bargain center. :) Thanks again to all who support this each year! |
