| DONATIONS ARE TAX DEDUCTIBLE |
The Foundation is a 501(c3) organization, registered with the Internal Revenue Service. The Foundation uses donations to fund grants on an annual basis. The current goal is to fund five grants for a total of $25,000 annually. Approximately 97% of donations are used for grants with a very minimal amount used to cover administrative and office expenses. If you choose to donate to the Vision for Animals Foundation you will receive a letter and receipt for your tax records. |
| HOW TO MAKE A PLEDGE OR DONATION |
| Pledges - Are typically made by Diplomates (members) of the American College of Veterinary Ophthalmologists™ (ACVO). Individuals commit a set amount that they would like to gift, based on a schedule with which they are comfortable. An example might be to pledge $1,000, which will be paid in increments of $250 twice per year for two consecutive years. This allows the donor to make a set commitment today, but pay according to his/her needs. | General Donation - Corporations and/or individuals from the general public typically gift donations to the Foundation. These are one-time payments to the Foundation which are paid in full that same day. Another form of a donation is to include the Foundation as benefactor in an individual's will. | Client-Based, "Pet Letter" Donation - Many ACVO members and general practice veterinary clinics make donations to foundations on behalf of their clients deceased pets. This is an excellent way to 'make a difference' and also help your client recognize how much you cared for their pet. Donations can be made by a clinic or by a specific doctor. Clients will receive a heart-felt letter letting them know that you made this donation to the ACVO Vision for Animals Foundation on behalf of their pet "fluffy". it also explains how the Foundation is working to help the research of eye disease and treatments. Forms are available below for your convenience. |
