| VAF MISSION & HISTORY | |
| "The mission of the Foundation is to provide for the welfare of animals through the prevention, treatment and cure of eye diseases by supporting scientific research, instruction of veterinary students, ophthalmology residents and graduate students and the dissemination of information to the veterinary community and the general public."
The ACVO Vision for Animals Foundation was officially created in November 2002, but had been in the minds of ACVO Diplomates for a long time. The Foundation slowly developed over past years and is an extension of the 'Magrane Fund' idea. The Magrane Fund was originally funded by individual donations and the Basic Science Course program. This Fund will remain a separate yet integral part of the overall Foundation program. |

| FUTURE PROGRAM GOALS | |
We are hopeful that 2008 might bring about a revolution in donation income to the Foundation and bring the VAF closer to its goal of accumulating 1-1.5 million dollars in assets to become self-funding. View information regarding current fundraisers and opportunities to help the VAF. |
