Principles of Phacoemulsification – Gain an understanding of the key technologies that contribute to safe and effective phacoemulsification such as vacuum creation systems, Advanced Fluidics™, and ultrasound metrics.  Learn how these technologies work together to achieve effective surgical outcomes.

Fancy Footwork: Cataract Surgery using the Stellaris Phaco System –  The presentation will discuss settings, fluidics, and ultrasonic modulation to most efficiently remove cataracts of various densities.   Use of the foot peddle to quickly move between modes, sub modes, change vacuum levels and bottle height will be presented.  Videos of cataract surgeries will be used to highlight Stellaris capabilities.

Stellaris® Elite™ Technology Group In-Service – Observe a Stellaris® Elite™ in-service to gain a thorough understanding of the phacoemulsification system you will be using in the hands-on wet lab session in order to maximize your wet lab experience.

Phacoemulsification Wet Lab/IOL Folding Stations – Participate in a hands-on wet lab experience utilizing the      Stellaris® Elite™ Phacoemulsification system, and receive assistance from expertly trained Bausch + Lomb personnel and faculty.  Understand how to set and adjust settings to achieve optimal surgical outcomes. Learn the folding and injector loading techniques for the Bausch + Lomb Veterinary (formerly Acrivet) line of intraocular lenses and injectors.
