The ACVO Vision for Animals Foundation (VAF) was founded 22 years ago. Since then, the organization has grown significantly. To date, the VAF has awarded more than $400,000 in grants to ABVO residents and an additional $280,000 to support larger research projects in the field of veterinary ophthalmology. The VAF also supports education programs, including webinars and courses focused on phacoemulsification.
The VAF is proud to announce the creation of the Cynthia S. Cook Endowment Fund, established with a generous gift of $500,000 from the Cook-Pruitt Trust, in memory of ACVO diplomate, Dr. Cynthia Cook.
These funds are designated to provide for the long-term security and sustainability of the VAF, in perpetuity. A small percentage of annual earnings from the endowment investment account will be used to fund the VAF’s operations but the remainder will be reinvested for further financial growth.
Paul Pruitt, husband of the late Dr. Cook, has offered to match contributions, up to $100,000, from ACVO members and friends who donate to the Cynthia S. Cook Endowment Fund in 2024. We are hoping to raise this match with 100 gifts of $1,000.
We hope you will join your colleagues and help VAF reach this goal by making a contribution. Your donation will be doubled in size and ensure that the VAF continues to support research for future generations.
