The VAF is now calling for proposals for a Founders Clinical Research Grant in honor of the ACVO Charter Diplomates. The goal of this initiative is to promote clinical research by ACVO board-certified diplomates in private practice or academia.
Funding is available for a single project of one- to two- years in duration. Proposals will be evaluated on significance of clinical problem, study design and scientific merit, innovation, feasibility of proposed research, and the potential impact on animal eye diseases.
Projects must be completed and presented by the ACVO Conference in 2022, with an interim progress report to the VAF by May 2021. The grant recipient will be required to present complete study results at the annual ACVO conference within 3.5 years of the grant award.
Grant applications are due by February 28, 2019 at 11:59 pm EST
The award will be a maximum of $10,000 (indirect costs are not allowed).
Applications will be reviewed and scored by the VAF’s Founders Clinical Research Grants Committee and funding decisions will be made in May 2019.
Please direct any application questions to the Founders Clinical Research Grants Committee Chair, Dr. Ken Abrams, at BermudaPetEyeDoc@verizon.net
